After a disappointing stint at Liverpool that was followed by redemption with AC Milan, Suso could be returning to the Premier League.
The Spanish international has put his career back on track with the Rossoneri. His successful four year spell in Italy has attracted interest from West Ham and Wolves.
According to Calciomercato, the Hammers and Wolves want the winger, and could potentially pay out his £35 million release clause. Both clubs seem ready to spend healthily in January.
Further reports from Calciomercato in the summer suggest Suso is demanding €6 million per season, which is outside of Milan’s budget. It’s becoming increasingly likely the Spaniard will leave, but will West Ham and Wolves splash the cash to bring the Spaniard to England?
Who exactly is Suso?
As mentioned earlier, the 25 year-old got in the spotlight when Liverpool signed him for their youth academy from Cádiz in 2010. Just three years and 14 appearances later and he had departed Anfield.
I think it is Suso’s free ability in possession, his reluctance to just palm the ball off to a teammate, that makes him such an attractive proposition. Averaging 1.6 dribbles a game, what comes as a shock is the development of his passing game: this season he averages 2.6 KEY passes per game. Talk about quality.
Although he is capable of a stunning goal or two, Suso generally lacks end product (one goal this season); this is clearly something he has to work on. If he can continue to impress, there’s no doubt that the Premier League clubs will come calling in January…
