Ndombele confirms interest in Tottenham
According to Sky Sports News, Tanguy Ndombele has confirmed that he wants a move to North London this summer.
The Lyon midfielder has described Spurs as a ‘big club’ in an interview with Telefoot and is keen on playing for Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs are also reported to have been in talks with Lyon for Ndombele, with the fee for the 22 year old likely to exceed £45 million.
“They are a big club like many others. Which player would not be interested in a big club?”Ndombele on Spurs in an interview with Telefoot
The Lilywhites are clearly targeting a highly rated midfielder in this window based on the links to the likes of Ndombele and Lo Celso. Despite the stadium debts and tight wage structure of the club, the signs are suggesting they could spend big this summer.
Bale to follow James with Bayern escape?
Since the reappointment of Zinedine Zidane and now the Galactico signing of Eden Hazard, it’s clear Gareth Bale is surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu.
There’s no love lost between the Real Madrid fans and the Welsh international, who scored a brace just 2 seasons ago to win Los Blancos their 3rd Champions League in a row. Zidane and Bale are at loggerheads, with the Frenchman refusing to play the former Spurs forward and Bale demanding his full contract is paid out. However, the German champions could provide a solution to both parties’ problems.
According to The Sun, Niko Kovac requires reinforcements out wide following the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. The Bavarians have been strongly linked with Leroy Sane and Callum Hudson Odoi in recent times but Bale could prove to be a short term alternative on loan.
They would be a club that would be able to afford his astronomical wages, getting him off Madrid’s wage bill for 1-2 years whilst giving the Southampton youth team product first team football again. A win-win.
Pogba’s desire for a ‘new challenge’
Pogba’s time in Tokyo has not gone down well in the Manchester area. Following an interview he gave where he said it could be time for a “new challenge”, it is looking more and more likely that the World Cup winner’s time at The Red Devils could be up.
According to The Daily Mail, the news did not go down well in the United board room, who are now reportedly only willing to accept ‘astronomical’ deals for the Frenchman. This is not good news for United in general, as the midfielder contributed 13 goals and 9 assists in their campaign last season, the figurehead of the side.
The former Juventus midfielder has been strongly linked to both his former Turin club and the exciting new Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane. United fans, if Pogba was to go, who would you bring in as a replacement?
