Transfer Roundup: Milan want Lovren, Palace want £60 million for Wan-Bissaka, Juve agree Sarri deal with Chelsea

Liverpool defender top target for Italian giants

After missing out on Champions League football on the last day of the Serie A season, it seems that the fallen giants AC Milan are looking to bolster their CB options, to perhaps guide the young pairing of Romagnoli and Caldara, and offer a more sturdy backup option than Matteo Musacchio after Zapata’s departure on July 1.

Two CL finals and a World Cup finalist all within the space, Dejan Lovern seems to be the man that the Rossoneri want, with Paul Joyce of The Times reporting that Milan’s new sporting director Ricky Massara rates Lovern highly. During his time at Roma, being Monchi’s right-hand man, Massara is likely to have picked up a thing or two off the Spaniard. Whilst Milan still look for their new manager, it is clear that the club is entrusting a more holistic transfer approach – empowerment from above has had success in recent times, see Monchi’s time at Sevilla and Roma.

It will take any offer above £25million for Liverpool to even consider selling the Croat, however, here at Taste of Football, we feel a fee in the low 30’s more probable. Additionally, there is no guarantee that Lovern will want to leave Merseyside – despite his reduced role this year, it is believed he is enjoying being part of a side that is challenging for honours, and the overall team spirit has contributed to this.

Palace want £60m for Wan-Bissaka

According to ESPN, Ole Gunnar Solskjær has to be prepared to break the ‘defender’ bank, after an initial offer of £35m was rejected by Crystal Palace. This deal would double the £30m United paid for Lindelöf in 2017. Talk about eye-watering.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka still has three years on his current deal, putting Palace in a strong position over transfer negotiations but they won’t want to unsettle the player, so have publicly said they would be willing to let the 21-year-old go. Juventus agree deal with Chelsea for Maurizio Sarri

According to BBC Sport, Chelsea have agreed a deal for Maurizio Sarri to join Juventus for the 2019/20 season. There are now rumours that an official announcement could be made today, with Juventus keen on getting a manager in before pre-season begins.

Sarri will be returning to Juventus for the first time since his title charge with Napoli in the 2017/18 Serie A season. Despite falling short, the Italian manager knows the ins and outs of the league well and would seem a good fit for I Bianconeri.
