Napoli right back new option for Red Devils
Another day, another player linked to Manchester United. This time it’s Elseid Hysaj (pronounced: ee-si, hee-si). The Napoli right-back had a positive campaign last year and has apparently peaked the interest of Ole Gunnar Solskjær, according to Sky Italia.
However, it looks as if they will have to battle it out with Atlético Madrid, who are also on the hunt for a right-sided defender as legend Juanfran’s legs begin to go. Whilst on any ordinary season, United would beat Madrid to the punch, the prospect of Champions League football has evaded Old Trafford and that could mean that they miss out on the Albanian.
I’m not the type of person who likes to stay at a club for too long. For me, my time at Napoli is over and I hope to find a team that will give me what I need.Elseid Hysaj
If Hysaj manages to look beyond Madrid’s potential Champions League campaign, it will cost United around £25m for his services; a relatively low fee for the quality of player. But for now, we will just have to see how things develop.
Lorient winger prefers move to Germany
After a visit to former teammate and good friend Matteo Guendouzi’s house just under a month ago, many Arsenal fans had the idea that the FC Lorient forward would be coming to The Emirates. And they were right to think that as rumours flooded social media of a £20m bid for the Frenchman.
However, following a report from The Metro, the 21-year-old has revealed that he would prefer German club Borussia Mönchengladbach over the London club.
“I want to join Gladbach.”Simple as that really
This has come as a shock to many football fans, as both Arsenal and West Ham seemed to be circling – a deal looked to be done in the next few days. But Alexis Claude-Maurice prefers Germany. An interesting story to follow and we are looking forward to seeing what he produces at a top club.
Frenchman prefers return to Turin
The Paul Pogba saga continues to flood transfer news feeds and new reports have emerged today about his preference of a move away from Old Trafford.
Sky Sports reports that the Frenchman would prefer a move back to Juventus rather than to the Santiago Bernabéu. After his interview a couple of days ago, where he suggested that he may have to look for a ‘new challenge’, it’s obvious Pogba is fed up of life in Manchester and has his sights set on a move away.
United have come out and said they expect the World Cup winning midfielder to stay at Old Trafford next season, but are likely to be tempted with offers in the region of £150 million, giving them a large return on the £89 million they paid for him, a world record fee at the time.
