De Ligt agrees personal terms with Juve
After weeks of strong links to PSG, Barcelona and Manchester United, it looks like Matthijs De Ligt has decided on the next club of his career.
According to Sky in Italy, the Bianconeri have agreed personal terms with the highly rated young defender, something that became a stumbling block when De Ligt’s move to the Blaugrana looked imminent back in February.
Despite news outlets not too long ago suggesting that the Dutch international’s future was in Paris with the French champions, significant progress has been made by the Old Lady since and has led to a 5 year contract worth £10.75 million per season reportedly being agreed by the Ajax prospect.
Official talks between Ajax and Juve are set to begin regarding a fee for the 19 year old centre back and a move to Turin is looking more certain than ever before. Yet with PSG still in contact with the Dutch champions, will there be another twist in the De Ligt transfer saga.
Inter considering two year Lukaku loan deal
After a disappointing second season in Manchester and an overall underwhelming stint since his £75 million move to Old Trafford, Romelu Lukaku could be set for a move to Italy.
The Belgian striker, according to Sky Sports, is subject of strong interest from Inter Milan, with Antonio Conte a keen admirer of the forward since their spells at Chelsea and Everton respectively. Sky suggest the Nerazzurri are preparing a £9 million offer to take Lukaku on loan for 2 seasons before an obligation to buy for £54 million.
This rumour has legs to it too, with the Belgian international’s new agent Federico Pastorello confirming the interest in his client from Milan and the possibility of a move away from the Red Devils.
“Lukaku is a dream, a difficult one to make happen as such, but I believe nothing is impossible. It’s not impossible and Inter is trying hard.”Lukaku’s agent on reported interest from Inter
Though it is suggested by previous reports that United would only be interested in a cash only deal for their striker, in the region of the £75 million they originally paid for him in 2017. Moreover, Inter may need to sell Mauro Icardi in order to raise funds for the Lukaku move.
Chelsea agree to sign midfielder permanently
After a signing him on a season long loan last year, it seems like Mateo Kovacic will be returning to Stamford Bridge permanently.
According to Di Marzio, the midfielder is set to sign for Chelsea from Real Madrid for a fee of €50 million which includes add-ons. This comes a surprise for The Blues, who were set to allow Kovacic to return to Los Blancos after their Europa League triumph.
Yet their unsuccessful transfer ban appeal has meant this is the only signing they are able to make due to the terms of contract being agreed prior to when the ban was imposed. Kovacic prior to these advancements, was subject of interest from former club Inter Milan as well as AC Milan who both reportedly enquired about a deal for the 25 year old.
Though he didn’t exactly light up the Premier League or exceed expectations, Kovacic provides much needed depth to a Chelsea side likely to be managed by Frank Lampard next season. He also provides a solid option with experience alongside the youth and talent expected to be promoted with transfer ban in effect.
