Madrid – The next chapter?

Recent reports from Paris and Spain suggest that Kylian Mbappe is not happy at Paris Saint-Germain and could be waiting to join Real Madrid once his current contract expires. Per Cadena SER, after a recent argument with boss Thomas Tuchel when leaving a win against Montpelier, Mbappe is again ignoring PSG’s desperate attempts to sign him to a contract extension. His current deal runs out in June 2021.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and manager Zinedine Zidane have made it pretty clear that Mbappe is a top target for Real Madrid. They hope that one day he will play in the Santiago Bernabéu. Los Blancos actually attempted to sign him when he broke out at Monaco during the 2016-17 campaign. But he opted to stay in France and join PSG.

Vadim, it’s too soon for me. I haven’t played for more than a year in my own country. I’m from Paris and I don’t want to leave my country right now. I want to become a great player here. Real Madrid will wait for me.

Since Mbappe scored 15 goals in the Champions League to guide a weak Monaco team to the semifinal, Perez and Zidane have been waiting for the perfect time to make a record-breaking offer. That time looks like it’s near.

Kylian Mbappe – What the future holds

It will take a very significant offer to sign the 20-year-old, considering all the money possessed by PSG’s ownership group. Real Madrid could offer Mbappe double his salary to make the deal possible. But considering how much he’s earning already, is money really going to be the deal breaker? Kylian Mbappe with Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid did sign Eden Hazard but they never really replaced Cristiano Ronaldo after he went to Juventus. Mbappe is a prolific player at a young age and he may want a new challenge, especially if his team can’t make a deep run in the UEFA Champions League. Should he go to Real Madrid? After securing a new deal with Nike, there are murmurings about a move to Liverpool. #Mbappe2020 could be a possibility. One thing’s for sure, it’s hard to see him playing his entire career in France.
