According to Sports Mole, Chelsea are eyeing a move for Russian striker Fedor Chalov. But who is CSKA Moscow’s free-scoring dynamo?
The 21 year-old may have been a piano prodigy when he was younger, but on the pitch he plays a different tune. At CSKA Moscow since he was six, making 100 appearances and scoring 35 goals; a more than decent return for a young lad. However, it was the 2018/19 campaign that proved to be his breakout spell…
27 starts, 15 goals and 7 assists. A complete striker and only just out his teens, Chalov managed to rampage through any defence he came up against. It was his ‘killer’ mentality in front of goal that shocked many. Cool as you like and with the rare ability to make the goalkeeper freeze on the spot, Chalov was a joy to watch.
Fedor Chalov – Style of Play
A sudden burst of pace to escape the central defender is something every creative midfielder craves. Fedor Chalov is one of the best at it. Raw speed over long distances and darting channel runs gives him a variety of chances. One on ones, tap ins, on the turn. They all go in. Also, averaging 1.4 key passes is a major attribute for a side like Chelsea, who expect all their players to contribute to the attacking phase.
Along with Tammy Abraham’s hot streak and Huson-Odoi’s steady development, a slight concern is his lack of goals in the Europa League this season. The Russian Premier Division is one thing, but continental competition is some other animal. Nevertheless, if Chelsea are able to overturn their transfer ban, something they plan on doing before the year is out, Chalov seems to be the target.
With the ban lifted, Chelsea can sign players. If they manage to bring in Fedor Chalov in January, it will be interesting to see if the Russian forward can prove himself right at the top. He has all the attributes.
