BREAKING NEWS: Maurizio Sarri to Juventus CONFIRMED

After a roller coaster sole season at Stamford Bridge that ultimately led to silverware, Maurizio Sarri has returned to Italy, more specifically Turin.

The former Napoli and now former Chelsea boss had an eventful season in England. Initially beginning in sublime fashion going 12 games in the Premier League unbeaten and reaching the EFL Cup Final.

However cracks began to emerge and friction was created between himself and the Chelsea players. The infamous Kepa incident humiliated Sarri and undermined his authority, inevitably leading to a loss on penalties to cup winners Manchester City

Constant criticism from players publicly about the Italian coach’s stubbornness as well as rigidity correlated with drops in performance for the side and a growing discontent towards Sarri from Chelsea fans. #SarriOut was looking certain.

But the 60 year old, like he has done throughout his career, persevered and against all odds, saw out a successful season in London with a 3rd place finish and more importantly, a Europa League trophy.

Sarri leaves Chelsea with the first piece of major silverware in his 29 year managerial career. He joins the Bianconeri on a 3 year deal, replacing Massimiliano Allegri and giving himself the best chance to win Serie A, what he was within inches with Napoli. The Old Lady have paid £5 million to Chelsea in compensation.
