Fernandes wants United move
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (Via Sky Sports), Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Sporting Lisbon midfielder and strongly linked transfer target Bruno Fernandes.
The Red Devils had seen a £70 million bid for Harry Maguire rejected earlier today, but have reportedly got the Portuguese international and Nations League winner on their side with terms agreed. However even if this rumour is true, United are yet to agree to a fee with Sporting, with no bids made for Fernandes as of yet.
Sporting want £50 million for their talented midfielder who scored a stunning 31 goals in all competitions last season. Liverpool and Tottenham have also shown interest in Fernandes earlier in the window, but United are seemingly favourites to acquire his signature.
Lampard’s dream move almost done
The stars have been aligned for weeks now after Maurizio Sarri’s departure from Stamford Bridge. But now Frank Lampard’s fairytale return to Chelsea as a manager is just days if not hours from completion.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues have agreed to pay Derby County the release clause of their greatest ever player and have now agreed personal terms with him. He is expected to earn £4 million per year and a bonus of £1 million with Champions League qualification.
Lampard helped Derby secure the last playoff spot on the final day of the Championship season before leading the Rams to the final where they lost to Aston Villa at Wembley.
A lack of experience does worry some of the Stamford Bridge faithful who even with their boundless love for Super Frank, do fear the team may struggle in the short term, especially with transfer ban. Only time will tell if this gamble by the Chelsea board will pay off.
Buffon to return to Turin
After just a year in Paris, Gianluigi Buffon is on the verge of a return to Juventus.
According to Sky in Italy, the 41 year old legendary keeper has agreed personal terms with his former employer with whom he made over 500 appearances for, winning 9 Serie A titles, 4 Coppa Italias and 5 Supercoppa Italianas. A true giant of the game.
He would now be a backup to former Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczęsny and will hope to secure the one trophy that has eluded him his whole career: the Champions League. With Cristiano Ronaldo and hopefully Matthijs De Ligt, Gigi’s dream has a decent chance of coming true.
