About an hour ago, Sky Sports reported that United had pulled ahead of Manchester City in their quest to sign Harry Maguire with a £70 million bid upping that of the Citizens.
However, now latest reports from Sky suggest that the Foxes have rejected the Red Devils’ improved £70 million bid.
Sky Sports News reported an hour or so ago that United had increased their bid for Leicester’s prized asset to £70 million, more than City’s existing offer to the midlands club. However, Leicester remain insistent Maguire isn’t for sale and they are under no pressure to sell, hence why they have swiftly rejected the improved bid.
The Foxes are said to be demanding a fee that exceeds that of the £75 million Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil Van Dijk. In our opinion, anything above £70 million is getting ridiculous for the former Hull City defender. Granted he is one of the league’s better centre halfs, but is he better than Liverpool’s Dutch colossus? Don’t think so…
We personally don’t think Harry Maguire is worth anything above £70 million, even in today’s market of highly inflated prices. However, do you think differently? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter @TasteofFtbl.
