According to CalcioMercato, Arsenal have been given the opportunity to sign Olympique Lyonnais forward Nabil Fekir for a deal thought to be in the region of around £30m.
This would be half the eye-watering £60m that almost saw Fekir join Liverpool last season – a medical breaking down the transfer. The 25-year-old scored 9 goals and layed on 7 assists in 29 Ligue 1 games last season, a slight downward turn from his previous season (18G+8A).
Nevertheless, this could be a fine acquisition for Arsenal, who recently lost midfield goalscorer Aaron Ramsey on a free to Juventus. With only one year on his contract, the only issue could be his wages, that are likely to be astronomical.
AC Milan are interested, but it seems as though Arsenal are in poll position, especially as their primary target, Wilfried Zaha, has been slapped with an £80m value by Crystal Palace. This ‘£40m’ that Arsenal were quoted seems to be stretching quite far…
