Despite their reported £45 million transfer which is small relative to their Top 6 rivals, Arsenal could soon be signing a fine player for free.
Sky Sports News have reported that the Gunners are in talks to sign Yacine Brahimi on a free transfer. The Algerian winger left Portuguese giants FC Porto after his contract expired and has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several consecutive transfer windows.
Brahimi had been with Porto for 5 years after moving from Granada in 2014. He is a technically gifted winger that is able to dribble superbly with the ball and especially in his last 3 seasons in Portugal, come up with an end product for his efforts.
Last season, the former PSG youth player had his most prolific season to date in the Portuguese top flight with 13 goals in all competitions, so he would be coming to Arsenal on the back of good form.
Though now 29 and perhaps slightly older than manager Unai Emery would like, he is certainly a good option out wide for the North London side and to get him on a free could prove to be shrewd business.
We will shortly have an article on what Yacine Brahimi can bring to Arsenal, going into depth about his qualities, so be sure to follow us on Twitter @TasteofFtbl for updates on that.
