Lucas Torreira to AC Milan
According to Goal in Italy, Milan are preparing a bid that may include the option of two of their own players in order to bring the Uruguayan across Europe. However, it seems as though Arsenal are resolute on keeping the tough-tackler in North-London.
After a monumental start, Torreira seemed to fade away, perhaps due to the everlasting World Cup hangover. The 23-year-old made 34 appearances for Arsenal last season, 10 from the bench. He averaged 1.1 interceptions and 1.9 tackles per game in the Premier League and of course scored that memorable goal v Tottenham.
A fan favourite already, Arsenal fans will lose the plot if their little Uruguayan departs the Emirates. For now, they may be safe…
Zaha keen on Arsenal move
After signalling his intent to leave Selhurst Park at the beginning of the summer, Wilfried Zaha has a dream destination in mind.
“It was always Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal in terms of where I could be going,”Zaha speaking about his boyhood club just after he signed for Manchester United in 2013 (Via ESPN while speaking to The Sun)
The winger, according to BBC Sport, prefers a move to Arsenal potentially over other top Premier League clubs as he is a lifelong Gunners fan.
Crystal Palace are insistent on keeping the Ivory Coast international, only entertaining offers around the £80 million mark, their valuation of their prized asset. Negotiations for Arsenal could be tough too, shown by the Eagles’ ability to agree a £55 million for Aaron Wan Bissaka from United.
Yet with a reported budget of a measly £45 million, it will be difficult for Unai Emery to bring the 26 year old in. Substantial player sales may be required to get the deal over the line and bring Zaha to the Emirates.
Saliba signing imminent
According to ESPN, Arsenal are now all set to make their first signing of the season: 18-year-old William Saliba.
St. Etienne defender Saliba has reportedly agreed personal terms with the London side, fending off interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.
The 18-year-old powerful central-defender has reportedly signed a five-year deal but the clubs are yet to agree a fee. St.Etienne are rumoured to want around £25m+ for their young talent, who played 16 games in Ligue 1 last season.
Saliba averaged 40 passes per game last season. This is not only a high total to have from a central-defender, but also shows how comfortable he is on the ball. He only extended his contract in April, but Unai Emery seems confident on bringing his man in this summer.
He also averaged 2 tackles and 2.7 clearances per game; a testament to his all around game. If Arsenal are going to get him, they are going to have to use a large chunk of their quoted £50m budget. Arsenal fans, do you want him?
