AC Milan forced to sell star keeper?
According to Italian source Calciomercato, the Rossoneri may be forced to sell Gianluigi Donnarumma in order to balance the books.
The 20 year old keeper burst onto the scene 3 years ago when he began starting regularly for the Italian giants at just 17 years of age. Despite Mino Raiola’s best efforts to lure him away from the capital to more lucrative destinations elsewhere, Donnarumma has stayed put.
However, after recent spending sprees under their new ownership, reports are suggesting Donnarumma may have to leave the San Siro to help fall in line with FFP. Likely destinations for the Italian international are PSG and Manchester United, with a £60 million fee being thrown around.
Milan are likely to replace their golden boy with Mattia Perrin if he were to leave. The Parisians are also interested in David De Gea whose contracts talks have stalled at Old Trafford. United would also consider Jan Oblak as a replacement for their own top shot stopper.
Rodri in tug of war between Bayern and City
Despite only joining Los Rojiblancos last summer, star Spanish midfielder Rodri could be on the move.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder has impressed in Diego Simeone’s side after a slow start to the season and is now on the radar of two other top European sides.
Manchester City were assumed to be front runners for his signature, as they aim to find the long term heir to 34 year old injury prone Fernandinho’s position. However SportBild claim Bayern Munich will rival the Premier League champions for the 22 year old.
The Bavarians are in the midst of a rebuild like many of Europe’s top sides, as they aim to bring in young talent to strengthen their long term prospects of Champions League glory. The Spaniard is rumoured to have a £60 million release clause and would have a tough decision to make if it was to be triggered by both sides.
Rodriguez to be part of Pogba’s Madrid switch
Despite reports of Gareth Bale being part of a deal to get Paul Pogba to the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid would also consider offering James Rodriguez to help fund the move.
The Colombian has spent the last two seasons on loan with German Champions Bayern, performing well for the most part in their title triumphs.
Yet he continues to be surplus to requirements in Zinedine Zidane’s side and according to the Daily Star, could be part of a deal to get United’s star midfielder over the line.
The Red Devils want £159 million for World Cup winner and could be interested in taking the 27 year old Rodriguez as part of the move. Madrid’s enormous spending can only take them so far, only willing to bid £111 million for Pogba, whose inconsistency and off the pitch persona frustrates the Old Trafford faithful.
