After weeks of ongoing talks and a medical earlier this morning, Manchester United have announced the signing of Daniel James on their Twitter.
The 21 year old winger has had an impressive season for Swansea City, with 11 goal contributions in 33 games. The fee is rumoured to be in the region of £15 million, potentially rising to £18 million with add-ons.
The Welshman is new permanent manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing of the summer with few Red Devils fans aware of James prior to the deal to the sign the winger.
Though unlikely to be a first team starter week in week out at Old Trafford, the 2 time capped Welsh international provides a dynamic option out wide and width for a United side lacking pace severely in midfield.
The signing has divided opinion among the fan base on social media yet it is low risk at the price and James is considered to have great potential. He agreed to join fellow Championship outfit Leeds in January, yet the move fell through at the last minute.
