DEADLINE DAY: Bournemouth defender set for Aston Villa move

According to Sky Sports News, Tyrone Mings will join the West-Midlands side on loan until the end of the season. The central defender come versatile full-back is reportedly travelling up for his medical as I write. Is this a good move?

Mings arrived on the south coast in 2015 but has had a Bournemouth career to forget. Plagued by injury, including a torn ACL and a back injury that has kept him out for 81 games in total. A shadow of the £8m man they brought in from Ipswich Town.

Now at 25, Mings is trying to get his career back on track. 16 league games in three years is a troubling record, but Villa could be the place for the former Chippenham Town man to reignite the form he showed when he was last in the Championship – as a twenty-year-old defender full of potential…
